Narva Trans head coach Cenk Özcan was visibly elated after his team secured a 2:1 victory over Nõmme Kalju in the Evald Tipner Cup quarterfinal. During the interview, he picked up the granddaughter of club president Nikolai Burdakov, saying, “She is our most important fan!” and repeatedly expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the win.
“We’ve faced Flora once and Kalju twice in the last 10 days, and with each match, we’ve improved. All these games were high-intensity and demanded a lot from us. That’s why this victory means so much to us—we are extremely happy! Our philosophy is that together, we can achieve anything! Thank you to the fans who traveled here from Narva, thank you to the club president, and thank you to all the staff and everyone who supports us,” Özcan said.
The Turkish coach emphasized that while his team performed well against Kalju today, there is still room for growth.
“It takes time to fully integrate the team. In four days, we will face Paide, who is perhaps the best team in Estonia right now. Step by step, our football will improve. If we fight like we did today, we can achieve great results in every game. We can achieve anything!”
The Premium League’s Round 2 match between Paide and Narva Trans is scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 PM.
